Samhain – Astrology 7th November 2009 by Marcus MasonGrand Trine in Water Signs

A beautiful Grand Trine in Water dominates the chart for the day. With Ceres, Sun and Mercry all within the strongest degrees (11°-18°) of Scorpio – (Sun passing through these degrees is what makes Samhain powerful).

The presence of Ceres and Mercury here will enable people to become aware (Mercury) of what they truly need to nurture them at the deepest emotional / soul level at this time.

The Moon in Cancer brings personal emotional needs to the forefront, and Uranus and Juno in Pisces enables us to align these needs with waking up to our soul’s purpose, and how we may align our emotional needs with the needs of others. If we are truly understanding our needs, rather than our ego’s “wants”, then what will be right for us will also be right for others. The key is not to remain stuck in old emotional comfort zones, believing that they are what we need. If we do this, it will take us away from our spiritual purpose (Moon opposing North Node).

The Moon (personal emotions) needs to be informed by the quincunx (150°) aspect from the Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune conjunction in Aquarius. These three are holding the vision for our personal and collective futures, and this needs to bring us into alignment with what our true spiritual purpose is at present – this will require some “adjustments” in our feeling perceptions, so that old habit patterns do not undermine that purpose.

Vesta in opposition to the Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune alignment will mean that our hearts will know when we “on track”, or will feel agitated when we are not – we just need to trust that inherent feedback mechanism of our soul!

When the heart feels right and on track, then we will feel in harmony with ourselves and others, and empowered by the connection between Vesta, Venus and Pluto.

If we stay stuck in old belief patterns that are long past their “sell-by” date, then they will dis-empower us (Saturn square Pluto), and simply leave us with no energy – Saturn is in the “valley” between the cusps of Virgo/Libra, telling us that “resistance is futile” – in other words, if we resist the changes that we know we need to make, then we will feel futile, and that what we are currently engaged in is meaningless.

Mars too may cause us problems if we insist on doing it “our way”. Mars in Leo is square the Ceres, Sun, Mercury conjunction. This may make us want to push forward prematurely, and miss what is really needed or required by our situation. The key is to wait for opportunities to arise, and then recognise when is the moment for action. Then we will achieve much from very small actions, and very little effort, as we will be in the flow with our destiny (Mars is conjunct the Vertex).
