"When you're not here... Where are you?"
This was the question posed by a Japanese friend sitting at a table near me in our local coffee shop.
"Huh?" I said, as I oriented back to being in the room.
"Well I've known you for some time now" he said, "And I've never seen you go so far away while sitting here."
It's true that I was sitting in the coffee shop, but was somewhere else
emotionally. I had transported myself back in time, thinking about the
wonderful experiences I had with my teacher Eva who recently passed
away, and her husband Gene.

I read an interesting polemic article in the American newspaper New
York Times (25/03/2008). Written by Natalie Angier, the text is based
on the research of prominent biologists and psychologists concerning
monogamy. The conclusion that they reach is impressive: conjugal
infidelity is present throughout the animal kingdom.
And that's not all: studies have shown that certain species "pay” for sex, while others reward their "lovers” with presents and affection. To complete the picture, jealousy and machismo are also to be found there: females are violently attacked if they copulate with another partner.

Meditation is one of the primary ways with which we are able to contact our true self and so experience the incredible intimacy of the breath.
This is an ancient art that has been used for countless ages in one form or another. The benefits of meditation are legion ranging from simply reducing stress to radical improvements in overall quality of life.
In this cycle of 13 meditations, Lars is offering to take the listener on a guided journey into creating a regular meditation practice and a deeper understanding of our true nature.
Lars in this series of audio clips offers several avenues whereby we can approach the art, discipline and joy of meditation. A sample is included here for you to experience:
- Here is the introduction to the whole 14 meditation cycle which provides some very useful tips and inspiration on how to prepare for a session of meditation:
- This is the first meditation from the cycle:
This is the fuller, longer version of the series overview. Gunnel provides an overview of each of the twelve in depth presentations looking at he healing potential of breathwork.
This is truly a landmark series of presentations on the scientific aspects of breathwork and looks into how and why it works.
Gunnel Minett is a world renowned author, scholar, researcher and breathworker and is one of the founding members of the International Breathwork Foundation.

Dear Friend of the Breath,
This year the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF) is having its annual Global Inspiration Conference in Mexico from the 6th to the 13th of July.
The Global Inspiration Conference (GIC) is a very special event, where conscious breathers and breathworkers from around the world meet for one week to share, learn and grow together. It is a wonderful opportunity for personal and professional growth, as well as for making friends and valuable connections.
There has been concerns lately
regarding health risks related to travelling
to Mexico because of the swine flue. I am delighted to announce
today that both the US Department of State and the UK Foreign and
Commonwealth Office have lifted their recommendation to
avoid all nonessential travel to Mexico

In
order to write the book "The Winner is alone”, the main theme of which
is the cult of celebrities, I had to do some interesting research into
the routine of those women who inhabit the collective imagination:
photographer's models. However different they may be, what follows is
an invariable pattern of behavior among them:
- Before going to bed they use several creams to clean the pores and keep the skin hydrated – from an early age making the organism dependent on foreign elements. They wake up, drink a cup of black coffee without any sugar, and some fruit with fibers – so that the food that they ingest during the rest of the day passes quickly through the intestines. They climb on the scales three to four times a day and become depressed by each excessive gram denounced by the needle.
A bright golden moon is
already rising over the Sea of
Cortez and soon it will be
coming into full view over the small mountain that sits between the farm
and the east coast of the Baja
Peninsula. The stars are on
notice that they will have serious competition tonight. Some of them are
already being out-shined, and others are quickly fading from
sight.
A fox just walked through the orchard. She stopped and stared at me and the glow of my laptop screen for a long moment. She must be on her way home to feed her little ones: there was a mole and something else hanging limp from her jaws.
It is late night. I am up in the hopes of confronting some wild pigs that have visited us two nights in a row. I think they've set their sights (and noses) on the watermelons and cantaloupes popping up in the new gardens. Last year, while I was away, they ate up the entire crop of melons in one night. (No wonder they are called pigs!) Yesterday we started covering some of the tomatoes with screen netting, to make them less inviting to all the birds that seem to think that we planted them just for their delight!
I'd like to introduce you to a truly special lady who has in so many ways left a footprint in my heart.
Julie comes from my home town in the UK and she lives just around the corner from where my parents used to live.
Julie is an international Soul Reader, Tai Chi and Chi Kung teacher, a pure life and Synergistic Healer, Meditation facilitator and Spiritual Counsellor.
