Martin JonesWe are continuously evolving and changing. In this talk the reality of this statement is unravelled in relationship to the breath, spirit, breast feeding and birth.

I recorded this in the middle of the night, so it may be a bit slow for the first few minutes.

Cultivating beauty, cultivating love by Charlie BadenhopLiving in Japan, I'm amazed by the bonsai displays of local people who keep their collections as a hobby. One of my favorites is a treasure trove of about one hundred chrysanthemums sitting in the yard of an older gentleman. Some of the plants stand close to five feet tall and have one massive bloom each. Other varieties are short and dense, and have been shaped to look like colorful clouds.

Dan BruleWelcome to the January 2009 Breath and Breathing Report.

So much life has filled the time since my last report! The Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holidays came and went. But the flow of love and peace and joy is continuous; and it seems to grow as we do!

HH Dalai LamaNo matter what is going on
Never give up
Develop the heart
Too much energy in your country
Is spent developing the mind
Instead of the heart
Be compassionate
Not just to your friends
But to everyone
Be compassionate
Work for peace In your heart and in the world
Work for peace
And I say again
Never give up
No matter what is going on around you
Never give up.

HH the XIV Dalai Lama

Figen GencoIt seems"spiritual" people feel guilty or embarrassed when I ask the question; "Do you meditate?" Many have assumptions about what meditation "is" or what it "should" be so they believe that they are not doing it or not doing it right.
You might be meditating while you are working in the yard, walking in the park, or just sitting; without knowing that you ARE meditating.

About doing it right, here is an old story:

Dear Friend,   The Shministim  - all about ages 16, 17, 18 - are a new breed of    conscientious objectors in Israel and right now they are taking a stand.   They believe in a better, more peaceful future for themselves and for Israelis and Palestinians, and they are refusing to join the Israeli army. They're in jail, holding strong against immense pressure from family, friends and the Israeli government.

Paulo CoehloI decided to conduct a survey among my friends about what society considers to be normal behavior. What follows is a list I have made of some of the absurd situations we face in day-to-day life, just because society sees them as normal:

Jim MorningstarFor 5 minutes a day (over the next month) simply observe how you breathe. It may be helpful in the beginning to find a quite space in which to do this. But also try it in other locations and notice the differences. For extra credit: Make written notes of your observations about your breathing. These notes will be valuable in future work

The Importance of Breath. To breathe is to live. How we breathe has a most profound influence on the quality of our life. Breathing correctly is the key to living fully. Most Westerners suffer from chronic improper breathing habits that are not immediately obvious. We breathe about 7 million breaths a year and the long-term effects of poor breathing are cumulative. They reduce not only the quality of vitality in our daily experience, but can lead to a weakening of our entire system and serious health issues.
Geoffrey SmithJanuary 2009 sees the launch of the IBTA's newsletter "IBTA eNews". This promises to be a quarterly publication which is:
"... designed to provide inspiring articles on breathwork for professional breathworkers and the general public, to give expert advice on the process and facilitation of breathwork and to give information on  International Breathwork Training Alliance membership and events sponsored by the IBTA."
